    ABOUT THE LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER

    Marshall Elementary School Library Media Center serves students in Kindergarten through Third Grades and is open before and after school on regular school days. The library/media center is staffed by Mrs. Tammy Deckard, library media specialist.

    CHECK-OUT POLICY

    Students in grades K-3 may check out one book at a time. All books are checked out for a period of one week. As books are returned and remain in good condition, the student may continue to select books for check out. Fines are not assessed for late books; however, fees will be charged for damaged or lost books. The fee for damaged or lost books will be the replacement cost of the item.

    Marshall Elementary Library Goals

    The goal of any library program is to help students to become effective life-long learners and users of information.  In order accomplish this, the following are the goals of our program:

    Help students acquire an interest in and enjoyment of reading.

    Acquire and maintain a balanced collection of resources that meet the needs of all users.

    Support Marshall Elementary's curriculum and the classroom programs by providing needed materials and appropriate guidance and instruction to students.

    Cooperatively plan with teachers to provide activities that integrate information literacy and research skills.
